Korean · Pronunciation Guide
dal. One syllable: a plain ㄷ with almost no voicing, an open ㅏ, and a bright forward l.
dal
One beat. Worth remembering that this syllable sits inside the same three-way set as 딸 and 탈 -- plain, tensed and aspirated -- so it is defined as much by what it lacks as by what it has.

오늘 밤에는 달이 밝아요 attaches the subject particle, so the ㄹ taps forward and the noun becomes da-ri. The verb 밝아요 then splits its cluster ㄺ, sending the ㄱ into the vowel to give bal-ga-yo.
A fully voiced English d is the overshoot, and adding aspiration is the overcorrection that lands on 탈. The plain consonant sits between them: no buzz, no breath. The dark l is the other error, and it colours the vowel backward in a syllable that has nothing else to rely on.
