How do you pronounce "دختر" in Farsi?
Formally "DOKH-tar" with a raspy kh; in fast everyday Tehrani speech the خ often softens to a light h, making it sound closer to "DOH-tar".

"دخترم مدرسه میرود" ("My daughter goes to school") drops the preposition "to" entirely — مدرسه رفتن ("to go [to] school") takes the destination as a bare noun before the verb, with no equivalent of English "to".
Where English speakers slip
Learners either over-pronounce the خ formally in casual contexts (sounding stiff) or, more commonly, mispronounce it as an English "k". In natural speech, a softened "h"-like خ is fine and authentic; a hard English "k" is not.
