'لطفاً کتاب را به من بدهید' (lotfan ketāb rā be man bedahid, 'Please give the book to me') marks کتاب (ketāb, 'book') with را as the definite direct object, then به من (be man, 'to me') as the indirect object — the reverse order from English 'give me the book'. The imperative bedahid uses the irregular present stem dah-, stressed BE-dahid.
Where English speakers slip
Learners often build the imperative from the infinitive stem, producing the incorrect 'bedādid' instead of the correct 'bedahid' — dādan's present-tense stem is irregularly dah-, not dād-, and this has to be learned separately.
