Farsi · Pronunciation Guide
Rhymes with "pan" or "tan", not with "Zen" — the vowel is a short, open "a" like in "cat", not a short "e".
zan
One syllable only; the main thing to get right is the vowel quality, not stress.

"آن زن معلم من است" ("That woman is my teacher") shows the possessive pattern "معلم من" ("teacher of-me" = "my teacher"), where من ("me/my") follows the noun it modifies rather than preceding it as in English.
The biggest mistake is pronouncing زن like the English word "Zen" (with an "eh" vowel). Keep the vowel low and open, like the "a" in "cat" or "pan", not the "e" in "pen".
