"Aaj mausam bahut kharaab hai" is worth noticing because it does not actually use buraa: it reaches for kharaab instead, the more idiomatic word for bad weather. Kharaab has an aspirated kh and a long aa, so its rhythm is close to buraa's but its consonants are harder.
Where English speakers slip
The obvious hazard is an American r, which lengthens the first syllable and colours its vowel. Beyond that, learners reduce the final aa to a schwa, which erases the masculine ending — with a feminine noun the word becomes buree, and that contrast only works if the final vowel is fully articulated.
