KUM-raa — a dry k, a bare schwa, an m pressed against a tap, and a long aa.
kamraa
The m-r junction has no vowel, so the word stays at two beats; spelled out letter by letter it would have three, which is exactly what beginners produce. The long aa takes the weight.

"Meraa kamraa chhoṭaa hai" lines up three -aa endings, all agreeing masculine, and chhoṭaa contains both an aspirated छ and a retroflex ट. The adjective is much harder than the noun, but their final vowels must match in length.
Inserting a vowel gives "ka-ma-raa," restoring what schwa deletion removes, and an American r stretches the second syllable. Press the m straight against a single tap. Aspirating the k is the third habit to suppress.
