mut — a bare schwa and a dental t, made with the tongue tip against the upper teeth.
mat
One short closed syllable. As a negative imperative particle it attaches to the verb it precedes and carries no independent accent, so it should be over almost before the listener registers it.

"Chintaa mat keejiye" places mat directly before the polite imperative keejiye, which is where it always goes in a prohibition — naheeṁ would be wrong here. Chintaa opens with an unaspirated च and ends in a long aa.
Saying the English word "mat" gives an alveolar t with an audible release and a fuller, longer vowel. Move the tongue tip to the teeth and let the vowel be a neutral schwa. Confusing mat with naheeṁ is a grammatical rather than phonetic error, but it is the more common one.
