MUR-gee — a short lax u, one quick flick of the tongue, a plain g, and a long ee.
murgee
The opening syllable is short and closed by a tap that takes no time, so the long ee dominates. An American r would stretch that first syllable and colour its vowel, which is the main thing standing between a learner and the right rhythm.

"Murgee roz ek aṇḍaa detee hai" contains aṇḍaa, which has the retroflex nasal ण and the retroflex stop ड in sequence — the tongue stays curled back for both. Detee is feminine to agree with murgee.
The r becomes a sustained rhotic that swallows the vowel in front of it. It is one flick. The u also tends to be lengthened toward "moor," when Hindi wants it short and lax, and the g must stay free of breathiness.
