Hindi · Pronunciation Guide
SUB-zee — a b pressed straight against a nuqta z, with no vowel between them.
sabzee
The b-z junction has no vowel in it, which keeps the word to two beats, and both consonants stay voiced across that junction. The beat itself lands on the long final vowel.

"Aaj raat ham sabzee aur roṭee khaaeṁge" lists two feminine nouns joined by aur and closes with the plural future khaaeṁge, whose nasalized ending agrees with ham. Roṭee's retroflex ट sits between them, so the tongue curls back once in the middle of the list.
The bigger tell is inserting a vowel — "sa-ba-zee" — which adds a beat Hindi does not have; keep the b and z pressed together with the voicing continuous. Reading ज़ as j gives "sabjee," a common casual pronunciation but not the careful one.
