say, but with the vowel held flat — no upward glide at the end.
se
A heavy open syllable that nevertheless takes no phrase accent, since postpositions attach rhythmically to the noun in front. Dillee-se should feel like one word with the beat on the place name.

"Maiṁ Dillee se hooṁ" uses se for origin, the same postposition that elsewhere means "by" or "with" — the sentence is a good anchor for its ablative sense. Dillee itself ends in a long ee that runs straight into se's long e, and native speakers do not break between them.
Diphthongisation is the whole issue. English speakers produce "say" with a closing glide, which in Hindi makes the vowel sound unstable. Hold your tongue completely still from the onset of the vowel to its end — think Spanish "se," not English "say."
