Hindi · Pronunciation Guide
shubd — one syllable ending in a b pressed straight against a dental d, with no vowel between them.
shabd
Word-final schwa deletion is what makes this a monosyllable at all: the spelling suggests a vowel after द that no one pronounces. What remains is a short vowel with a heavy two-stop coda.

"Mujhe sahee shabd naheeṁ mil rahe" uses the plural rahe even though shabd looks singular, because the speaker means "the right words." Mujhe's breathy झ opens the sentence, so a sigh precedes the fricative of shabd.
Beginners add a vowel — "shab-da" — restoring what the language deletes, and make the final d alveolar. Press the two stops together with the voicing continuous, and finish with the tongue tip against the upper teeth rather than the ridge.
