SU-buh — a short lax u, an unaspirated b, and a final h that is soft and often barely released.
subah
Nothing about this word should be drawn out, which is at odds with how substantial it looks in transliteration. Neither vowel is long and the closing h contributes almost no weight, making it one of the lightest time nouns in the course.

"Maiṁ har subah dauṛtaa hooṁ" pairs subah with har for "every morning," and dauṛtaa contains ड़, the retroflex flap, plus the rounded औ vowel. That verb is considerably harder than the time noun in front of it.
Learners give the final h a hard English release, making it sound like an exclamation, and lengthen the first vowel toward "soo." Keep both vowels short and let the h fade. Adding breathiness to the b would also turn it into भ, which is a different letter.
